We are a friendly collective of midwives with an holistic philosophy of care. We are passionate about caring for women in their childbirth year.
We have a purpose-built clinic located in Northcote. We are easily accessible via the motorway and public transport, and just minutes away from North Shore Hospital.
There are so many choices to make when you are pregnant and it can be confusing. Who will look after you, what services are you entitled to, where will you have your baby.
If you would like to get in touch directly with your midwife, you can do so from this drop-down menu.
You don’t need to see your GP if you think you are pregnant. We can confirm your pregnancy, prescribe pregnancy iodine and folic acid and provide all ongoing care free of charge if you are eligible for free healthcare in NZ.
We provide all antenatal care during the pregnancy, arranging all tests and scans that are required and referring to other practitioners if needed. This care is free of charge if you are eligible for free healthcare in NZ.
When you are in established labour, we provide labour care and stay with you until a few hours after the baby is born. In early labour we will liaise with you over the phone and visit you at home if necessary.
We visit you at home to check on your health and wellbeing and to do the baby’s Well Child checks. We discharge you to Well Child Services between four and six weeks after baby is born.
If you have had a previous caesarean, you will most likely be encouraged to have a vaginal birth as the safest way to birth your baby. We are skilled practitioners experienced in vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC).
For healthy low-risk women, birth in water is a lovely option whether in hospital or at home. Water has been shown to be a safe and highly effective pain relief option for labour and birth.
There is a body of evidence that shows homebirth is a safe and healthy option for women with low-risk pregnancies. Homebirth enables you to birth your baby in your own environment where you are most comfortable. If you are interested in having a homebirth, discuss with your midwife.
We have access at North Shore Hospital for labour and birthing. Another option is to birth at North Shore and then transfer to Warkworth or Helensville Birthing Centre for your postnatal stay.
If you are having problems with breastfeeding your baby, we have a private lactation consultant we can refer you to.
Acupuncture is good for pre-pregnancy preparation and fertility treatment, morning sickness, pregnancy discomforts, turning breech babies and preparing for labour. Your midwife can refer you to a reputable accupuncturist.
If you require obstetric input during your pregnancy, we refer you to the Obstetricians at North Shore Hospital. There is no charge for their consultations.
